    Your file is hashed in your own browser and is never uploaded to our servers — only a fingerprint of it is sent for checking.

    How this works

    Every report we issue is fingerprinted with a SHA-256 hash of its exact contents. Change so much as a comma in the document and the fingerprint no longer matches, which is why we check the file itself rather than a reference or a code printed on it — anything printed on a report can be copied onto a forged one. Your file is hashed on your own device; we only ever receive the fingerprint, never the report.
